JAKARTA (MKRI) – At the plenary hearing held on Monday, February 24, 2025, nine constitutional justices concluded reading the decisions on 40 cases of the 2024 regional head election results disputes that proceeded to further examination. Of these cases, the Constitutional Court (MK) granted 26 petitions, rejected 9, and dismissed 5. This ruling hearing marked the official completion of the Constitutional Court’s handling of all 310 petitions related to the 2024 regional election results disputes.
Of the decisions granted, 24 cases resulted in a court order for the respective regional Election Commissions (KPU) to conduct a revote. Additionally, in one case, the Constitutional Court instructed the KPU to recapitulate the vote count results—Case No. 305/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 on the Puncak Jaya regent election dispute. Meanwhile, for Case No. 274/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 on the Jayapura regent election results dispute, the Court ordered a revision of the Jayapura Regency KPU’s decision regarding the certification of the 2024 regent election results.
