JAKARTA (MKRI) – The Constitutional Court (MK) ordered the West Bangka Regency KPU (Elections Commission) to conduct a revote at the following polling stations: TPS 1, TPS 2, TPS 3, and TPS 4 of Sinar Manik Village, Jebus District. This was because vote buying was proven to have occurred, but was not addressed by the West Bangka Bawaslu (Elections Supervisory Body).
In the legal consideration for Decision Case No. 99/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025, delivered by Constitutional Justice M. Guntur Hamzah, the Court explained that 110 voters had been given money rewards of Rp100,000. At four polling stations where there was a list of individuals who received the money, these individuals had also cast their votes. They include Rizaldi, village coordinator and a witness for Candidate Pair 1 Sukirman and Bong Ming Ming (Petitioners). Initially, he was the village coordinator for the Relevant Party (Candidate Pair 2 Markus–Yus Derahman).
Therefore, Justice M. Guntur Hamzah added, the violation has harmed the purity of the votes in the 2024 West Bangka regent election. The money was distributed at TPS 1 to 23 voters, at TPS 2 to 27 voters, at TPS 3 to 30 voters, and at TPS 4 to 30 voters. All those polling stations were located in Sinar Manik Village, Jebut District.
“[The Court] partially grants the Petitioners’ petition; declares the West Bangka Regency KPU Decree No. 583 concerning the certification of the 2024 West Bangka election results dated December 4, 2024 annulled, insofar it concerns the results of the vote acquisition in the 2024 West Bangka regent election at TPS 1, TPS 2, TPS 3, TPS 4 of Sinar Manik Village, Jebus District, West Bangka Regency,” said Chief Justice Suhartoyo at the ruling hearing on Monday, February 24, 2025.

The Court also ordered that the Respondent conduct a revote at said polling stations by involving the voters listed in the final voter list, relocated voter list, and additional final voter list used for voting on November 27, 2024. The revote must be carried out no later than 30 days after the decision was announced. The results of the revote will then be combined with the vote acquisition that was not annulled by the Court. They will be certified and announced under statutory laws and regulations without the obligation to report to the Constitutional Court.
