JAKARTA, (MKRI) – Constitutional Justice Liliek Prisbawono Adi attended a meeting with the Constitutional Court Honorary Council (MKMK) at the Delegation Room, Building I of the Constitutional Court, on Monday (04/13/2026). The meeting took place following his oath-taking as a Constitutional Justice before the President of the Republic of Indonesia at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday (04/10/2026).

Present at the meeting were Chair of the MKMK I Dewa Gede Palguna, MKMK Member Ridwan Mansyur, and MKMK Member Yuliandri, along with Liliek Prisbawono Adi as the newly appointed Constitutional Justice. According to Palguna, the meeting served as an introductory session between the MKMK and Liliek as a new Constitutional Justice nominated by the Supreme Court, replacing Anwar Usman, who has entered retirement.

“As we know, the MKMK is the body that will oversee the Constitutional Court, particularly its justices, in maintaining and enforcing the code of ethics,” Palguna stated.

Palguna further explained that the MKMK provided an overview of its institutional role, duties, and authority, including the Sapta Karsa Hutama as the code of ethics and conduct for Constitutional Justices, the MKMK’s working mechanisms, the work culture within the Court, and key dos and don’ts to preserve the dignity and authority of the institution. He noted that the MKMK is tasked with enforcing the Sapta Karsa Hutama through examination mechanisms for alleged ethical violations, whether arising from public reports or internal findings.

He also emphasized that the MKMK outlined the fundamental guidelines for maintaining institutional dignity as embodied in the Sapta Karsa Hutama, which serves as the core values for every Constitutional Justice. The seven principles underscore the importance of being independent, impartial, possessing integrity, being honest, wise, responsible, and upholding the honor and dignity of the institution.

“This is not meant to intimidate, but rather to familiarize [new justices] with the traditions—so to speak—that have developed within the Constitutional Court regarding ethical enforcement or the Sapta Karsa Hutama. We want to emphasize this, and if there are any doubts, they should not hesitate to consult the Honorary Council on whether something is appropriate or not,” Palguna explained.
