JAKARTA, (MKRI) – Liliek Prisbawono Adi took the oath of office as a Constitutional Justice before the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, on Friday (04/10/2026) at the State Palace in Jakarta. The oath-taking ceremony was witnessed by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and several members of the Merah Putih Cabinet. Representing the Constitutional Court were Constitutional Justice Ridwan Mansyur, Constitutional Justice Arsul Sani, Constitutional Justice Daniel Yusmic P. Foekh, Constitutional Justice Adies Kadir, as well as Secretary General of the Court Heru Setiawan.

Liliek’s appointment as a Constitutional Justice is based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 36/P of 2026 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Constitutional Justices Proposed by the Supreme Court. He replaces Constitutional Justice Anwar Usman, who retired from office on April 6, 2026.

“By God, I swear that I will fulfill my duties as a Constitutional Justice to the best of my ability and with utmost fairness, uphold the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and carry out all laws and regulations in accordance with the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and devote myself to the nation and the people,” Liliek recited clearly, fluently, and calmly.

Standing at 187 cm tall, Liliek earned his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Indonesia in 1992. He later obtained a Master’s degree in Business Law from Padjadjaran University in 2013, and completed his doctoral studies in law at Airlangga University in 2021.

Born in Bojonegoro on October 27, 1966, Liliek began his career as a staff member at the Karawang District Court in 1992 and served as a judicial candidate at the same court in 1993. His legal career has included positions as a first-instance judge at the Fak-Fak District Court, Chief Judge of the Ungaran District Court, Chief Judge of the Central Jakarta District Court, and High Court Judge at the Medan High Court.
