JAKARTA, MKRI – The Candidate Pair Number 3 for Regent and Vice Regent of Tasikmalaya Regency, Ai Diantani Ade Sugianto and Iip Miptahul Paoz (Petitioner), submitted a petition to the Constitutional Court (MKRI) requesting the annulment of Decree Number 35 of 2025 issued by the General Election Commission (KPU) of Tasikmalaya Regency. The decree concerns the Determination of the Recapitulation of Vote Counting Results for the 2024 Regent and Vice Regent Election of Tasikmalaya Regency, dated April 19, 2025.

The preliminary hearing for Case Number 324/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 on the 2024 Tasikmalaya Regent Election Result Dispute was held on Thursday (15/5/2025), before Panel 1 of the Constitutional Court, presided over by Chief Justice Suhartoyo, accompanied by Constitutional Justices Daniel Yusmic P. Foekh and M. Guntur Hamzah.

“The Tasikmalaya Regency KPU (Respondent), in conducting the revote, relied solely on the General Election Commission Letter Number 494/PL.06-SD/06/2025 dated March 4, 2025, and did not refer to General Election Commission Regulation Number 8 of 2024,” explained Andi Ibnu, the Petitioner’s legal counsel, during the hearing held in the Plenary Courtroom, Building 1 of the Constitutional Court. He further stated that the Respondent failed to reopen registration for all candidate pairs, and instead only allowed Candidate Pair Number 3 to register. This was done despite the fact that the legal status of all candidate pairs had been annulled through Constitutional Court Decision Number 132/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025. “Therefore, the actions taken by the Respondent constitute unlawful conduct, resulting in administrative errors in the form of actions that contradict prevailing laws and ethical standards in the election administration process,” he emphasized.

Therefore, the Petitioner requests the Court to declare the disqualification of Regent and Vice Regent Candidate Pair Number 1, Iwan Saputra–Dede Muksit, and Candidate Pair Number 2, Cecep Nurul Yakin–Asep Sopari Al Ayubi; to declare null and void the Decision of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Tasikmalaya Regency Number 35 of 2025 concerning the Determination of the Results of the Re-Voting for the 2024 Election of Regent and Vice Regent of Tasikmalaya Regency following the Constitutional Court’s Decision on the Election Results Dispute, insofar as it concerns the vote acquisition of Candidate Pair Number 1, Iwan Saputra–Dede Muksit, and Candidate Pair Number 2, Cecep Nurul Yakin–Asep Sopari Al Ayubi; to declare null and void the Decision of the KPU of Tasikmalaya Regency Number 10 of 2025 concerning the Determination of Candidate Pairs for the 2024 Election of Regent and Vice Regent of Tasikmalaya Regency dated March 23, 2025, insofar as it pertains to Candidate Pair Number 1, Iwan Saputra–Dede Muksit, and Candidate Pair Number 2, Cecep Nurul Yakin–Asep Sopari Al Ayubi; to declare null and void the Decision of the KPU of Tasikmalaya Regency Number 11 of 2025 concerning the Determination of the Elected Candidate Pair for the 2024 Election of Regent and Vice Regent of Tasikmalaya Regency dated March 23, 2025, insofar as it pertains to Candidate Pair Number 1, Iwan Saputra–Dede Muksit, and Candidate Pair Number 2, Cecep Nurul Yakin–Asep Sopari Al Ayubi; and to determine Candidate Pair Number 3, Ai Diantani Ade Sugianto–Iip Miftahul Paoz, as the winner of the Re-Voting of the 2024 Election of Regent and Vice Regent of Tasikmalaya Regency, with a total of 269,075 valid votes.
