JAKARTA (MKRI) — On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, the Constitutional Court (MK) dismissed the petition for Case No. 203/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 at the ruling hearing on the 2024 West Halmahera regent election results dispute. The ruling for the petition, filed by candidate pair 4 Iskandar Idrus and Lusiany Inggilina Damar, was delivered by Chief Justice Suhartoyo accompanied by the other eight constitutional justices in the plenary courtroom.
“On the petition’s subject matter, [the Court] declared the Petitioners’ petition inadmissible,” asserted Chief Justice Suhartoyo.
Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra explained that the Petitioners’ petition did not meet formal requirements, citing obscurity.
“[The petition] did not meet formal requirements, as such there is no doubt for the Court to declare the Petitioners’ petition obscure,” asserted Chief Justice Saldi.

At the preliminary hearing, Candidate Pair 04 Iskandar Idrus-Lusiany Inggilina Damar alleged that state civil apparatus (ASN) had been mobilized in the 2024 West Halmahera Regency election, citing direction by candidate pair 03 Yames Uang-Djufri (incumbent) to vote for them.
Referring to the West Halmahera KPU certification of vote count results, Candidate Pair 01 Juliche Dolfina Baura-Bustami Albaar won 7,736 votes, Candidate Pair 02 Danny Missy-Iksan Husain gained 18,147 votes, Candidate Pair 03 Yames Uang-Djufri Muhamad achieved 28,781 votes, and Candidate Pair 4 Iskandar Idrus-Lusiany Inggilina Damar achieved 13,367 votes. Therefore, in their petitums, the Petitioners requested the Court to annul the West Halmahera KPU Decree No. 225 of 2024 concerning the certification of the 2024 West Halmahera Regency election results dated December 6, 2024; to annul Candidate Pair 03 Yames Uang-Djufri Muhamad; and to order the Respondent (West Halmahera KPU) to do a revote at all polling stations throughout West Halmahera Regency.
