JAKARTA (MKRI) – Candidate Pair 04 Iskandar Idrus-Lusiany Inggilina Damar alleged the state civil apparatus (ASN) had been mobilized in the 2024 West Halmahera Regency election, citing direction by candidate pair 03 Yames Uang-Djufri (incumbent) to vote for them.
“Candidate pair 03’s mobilization of ASNs for political interests are contrary to Article 71 paragraph (1) (Regional Election Law),” said the Petitioners’ legal counsel Muhamad Al Jebra Al Iksan Rauf at the preliminary hearing of the 2024 West Halmahera Regency election results dispute on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. The Case Number 203/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 was presided over by Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra (panel chair) and Constitutional Justices Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani on panel 2.
The Petitioners referred to a court decision indicating that district heads Warjin Hi Soleman and Loloda Norlis Souw, along with Todoke village head Rudianto Kari and Togowo village head Yestos Fara, had been found guilty of election-related crimes that favored candidate pair 03. Furthermore, the Petitioners alleged that candidate pair 03 had misused the regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD) for political purposes.
Referring to the West Halmahera KPU certification of vote count results, Candidate Pair 01 Juliche Dolfina Baura-Bustami Albaar won 7,736 votes, Candidate Pair 02 Danny Missy-Iksan Husain gained 18,147 votes, Candidate Pair 03 Yames Uang-Djufri Muhamad achieved 28,781 votes, and Candidate Pair 4 Iskandar Idrus-Lusiany Inggilina Damar achieved 13,367 votes.
Therefore, the Petitioners requested the Court to annul the West Halmahera KPU Decree No. 225 of 2024 concerning the certification of the 2024 West Halmahera Regency election results dated December 6, 2024; to annul Candidate Pair 03 Yames Uang-Djufri Muhamad; and to order the Respondent (West Halmahera KPU) to do a revote at all polling stations throughout West Halmahera Regency.
