JAKARTA (MKRI) – The Constitutional Court (MK) ruled the petition for case No. 147/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 on the 2024 Pringsewu regent election results dispute inadmissible. As the petition was filed to the Court past the deadline which was stipulated in Law No. 10 of 2016 on the Regional Election Law and Constitutional Court Regulation No. 3 of 2024.

“In the petition’s subject matter, [the Court] dismisses the Petitioners’ petition No. 147/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025,” stated Chief Justice Suhartoyo at the ruling hearing alongside the other eight constitutional justices on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

In its legal consideration, delivered by Constitutional Justice Arsul Sani, the Court explained that Article 157 of Law No. 10 of 2016 (Regional Election Law) stipulates that a petition for an election results dispute must be submitted to the Court no later than three working days since the announcement of the certification of the vote acquisition results by the Provincial or Regency/City KPU (Elections Commission).
