JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Pringsewu Regency KPU (Elections Commission) as Respondent asserted that the allegation of campaign violation at a mosque was baseless. They stated that candidate pair 2 Adi Erlansyah and Hisbullah Huda (Petitioners) had not clearly specified the area and provided documents as evidence for the allegation.
“The Petitioners’ allegation of campaign at a place of worship is irrelevant as they did not specify where it happened, how many times it occurred, nor did they provide documents as evidence,” stated the Respondent’s legal counsel Khairil Amin at the examination hearing for case No. 147/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 on the Pringsewu regent election results dispute on Monday, January 20, 2025.
The Petitioners suspected that Sujadi Sadat, campaign team leader of candidate pair 3 and two-term Pringsewu regent, had violated regulations by campaigning at a place of worship. However, the Respondent stated that Sujadi Sadat was not registered in Pringsewu KPU as a campaign team member of candidate pair 3.
In addition, the Respondent also alleged that the Petitioners had not clearly outlined who the “service agency” referred to in the candidacy registration, as stated in the petition. It was unclear whether it referred to a liaison or helpdesk officer assigned by the Respondent to input the candidate pair’s data. However, if the agency referred to was the helpdesk officers, they were assigned to coordinate with the candidate pairs to input their data and documents.
Meanwhile, the Respondent stated that the Petitioners only presented a table of figures in their petition. The Respondent confirmed that the figure is the same as the D-result form and the Pringsewu KPU Decree No. 1185 of 2024 on the certification of the 2024 Pringsewu regent-vice regent election vote counting recapitulation.
Candidate pair 3 Riyanto Pamungkas and Umi Laila (Relevant Party) stated that the Petitioner’s petition was submitted to the Court past the deadline for filing an election results dispute petition. The Relevant Party explained that the petition should have been submitted by December 5, 2024, but the Petitioners submitted it on December 9, 2024.
Also, the Relevant Party emphasized that Sujadi Sadat, who was accused of campaigning at a place of worship, was not a member of candidate pair 3’s campaign team. “[Sujadi as] a supporter? We did not confirm it, Your Honors,” explained Sultan, the Relevant Party’s legal counsel. Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra presided over the hearing on panel 2, accompanied by Constitutional Justices Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani.
Meanwhile, the Pringsewu Regency Bawaslu (Elections Supervisory Body) chair Suprondi stated that there had been no report or finding of any campaign violation by Sujadi Sadat. Based on the supervisory results on November 3, 2024, the allegations did not contain elements such as an invitation to vote, self-image, or statement of visions, missions, and work programs of candidate pair 3.
“[Sujadi Sadat] preached at the mosque regularly,” explained Suprondi. He also mentioned that Sujadi is a preacher who owns an Islamic boarding school.

The Pringsewu KPU certified the votes for the Pringsewu regent election as follows: candidate pair 1 Fauzi-Laras Tri Handayani received 57,422 votes, candidate pair 2 Adi Erlansyah-Hisbullah Huda gained 40,600 votes, candidate pair 3 Riyanto Parnungkas-Umi Laila obtained 107,249 votes, and candidate pair 4 Ririn Kuswantari-Wiryawan Sadad received 21,605 votes.
Candidate pair 2 objected to the certification of election results, arguing that Sujadi Sadat had violated regulations by using mosques in his campaign. This allegation was reported to but was dismissed by Pringsewu Regency Bawaslu, who asserted that it was not a violation and that they could not investigate further.
In their petitums, the Petitioners requested the Court to annul the Pringsewu Regency KPU Decree No. 1185 of 2024 on the certification of the 2024 Pringsewu regent-vice regent vote acquisition results issued on December 2, 2024 at 11:10 WIB, or the Pringsewu regency KPU Decree No. 736 on the announcement of the 2024 Pringsewu regent-vice regent candidate pairs.
