JAKARTA (MKRI) – The Constitutional Court (MK) approved the withdrawal of the Central Java regional head election results dispute filed by Governor Candidate Pair 1 Andika Perkasa and Hendrar Prihadi (Andika-Hendi) in Case No. 263/GUB-XXIII/2025.

On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, the decree was read in the plenary courtroom at a hearing chaired by Chief Justice Suhartoyo and eight other constitutional justices.

“[The Court] grants the withdrawal of the Petitioners’ petition for Case No. 263/GUB-XXIII/2025,” stated Chief Justice Suhartoyo.

Chief Justice Suhartoyo explained that this decree was made based on a justice deliberation meeting on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Once the withdrawal was determined, Andika-Hendi are not allowed to re-submit a similar petition to the Court. Furthermore, a copy of the petition will be returned to the Petitioners through the Registrar’s Office.

At the preliminary hearing on Thursday, January 9, 2025, the Petitioners argued that there had been structured, systematic, and massive (TSM) violations by Candidate Pair 2 Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin. They also alleged the involvement, partiality, and non-neutrality of several village heads in Central Java Province. Furthermore, the Petitioners argued about rewards of money or goods that could have influenced voters. The goods in question were, for example, Minyakita cooking oil and basic staples.

However, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, the Petitioners officially withdrew their petition through their legal counsel, followed by a request by Andika-Hendi on Monday, January 13, 2025. At the hearing on Monday, January 20, 2025, they officially delivered their withdrawal request.
