JAKARTA (MKRI) — Central Java Governor Candidate Pair Number 1 Andika Perkasa and Hendrar Prihadi (Andika-Hendi) have officially withdrawn their petition on the dispute over the 2024 Central Java governor election results. The Petioners’ legal counsel Mulyadi Marks Phillian delivered the request at the second hearing for Case No. 263/GUB-XXIII/2025 on Monday, January 20, 2025.
The hearing was presided over by Chief Justice Suhartoyo (panel chair) and Constitutional Justices Daniel Yusmic P. Foekh and M. Guntur Hamzah on panel 1. The Central Java Provincial KPU (Elections Commission) is the Respondent and Candidate Pair Number 2 Ahmad Luthfi and Taj Yasin are the Relevant Party.
The withdrawal request was filed on Saturday, January 11, 2025 by Andika-Hendi’s legal counsel, followed by another request by Andika-Hendi on Monday, January 13, 2025.
“We hereby filed a request to withdraw the petition regarding the dispute over the 2024 Central Java governor election results for Case No. 263/GUB-XXIII/2025 dated December 11, 2024 and an amendment to the request dated December 13, 2024,” Mulyadi stated.
Mulyadi said that the revocation was to maintain conduciveness in Central Java after the 2024 regional head election 2024 so that all stakeholders can reunite to build Central Java with peace and harmony.
This was also highlighted by the panel of justices, who hope that all litigants, especially in the 2024 regional head election, would prioritize solidarity and cooperation. The panel have also accepted the withdrawal of the petition.
“In that case, [we hope] others can also consider [withdrawal] for the sake of solidarity and cooperation. So, the panel accepts this request for withdrawal and for case 263, in our opinion, it is irrelevant to continue [the petition],” stated Chief Justice Suhartoyo.

At the previous hearing on Thursday, January 9, 2025, the Petitioners alleged that there had been structured, systematic, and massive (TSM) violations. They also mentioned the partisanship of several village heads in Central Java Province.
The Petitioners also argued about money politics or other materials that can influence voters, such as the distribution of cooking oil and staple foods.
Before the withdrawal, the Petitioners requested the Court to cancel the Central Java Province KPU Decree No. 200 of 2024 concerning the certification of the 2024 Central Java governor election results. They also requested that the Court cancel or disqualify the Relevant Party as the elected governor-vice governor.
