JAKARTA (MKRI) — As the Respondent, the Supiori Regency Elections Commission (KPU) delivered its response during the examination hearing on the Supiori regent election results dispute to hear the Respondent’s response, as well as testimonies from the Relevant Party and Bawaslu (Elections Supervisory Body) on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Legal counsel Agus Mulyadi, on behalf of the Respondent, stated that they had conducted verification on the registration documents of Regent Candidate 3, Heronimus Mansoben, and discovered that he had resigned from his position as a civil servant on September 21, 2024. They also reported that the Civil Registry Office of Supiori Regency had issued a statement confirming that the ID card listing him as an entrepreneur had been revoked or invalidated.
The hearing for the Case No. 82/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025. was presided over by Chief Justice Suhartoyo (panel chair) and Constitutional Justices Daniel Yusmic P. Foekh and M. Guntur Hamzah on panel 1.
In response to the arguments in the petition lodged by Candidate Pair 1 Yotam Wakum – Marinus Maryar (Petitioners), Agus stated that the application documents of the prospective candidate Heronimus Mansoben had been rectified and his profession as civil servant had been in accordance with the valid ID card. Thus, upon clarification, the Respondent deemed the Petitioners' argument to be incorrect.
"Meanwhile, as for the documents Heronimus Mansoben attached at the time of his registration to the People's Conscience Party (Hanura) and Indonesian People's Wave Party (Gelora), the Respondent was not aware of them, since the incidents argued took place before the stages of the 2024 Supiori regent prospective candidate pairs application," Agus explained.
Money Politics Allegation Denied
Candidate Pair 3 Heronimus Mansoben–Sahrul Hasanudin Nunsi (Relevant Party) delivered their statement regarding the allegation of money politics. Legal counsel Daniel Febrian K. Herpas, on behalf of the Relevant Party, argued that the Petitioners had not specified or proved the parties receiving the money as well as the time and place of the incident. Since there were three contesting pairs in the election, the Relevant Party argued that the allegation needed to be elaborated. "Thus, the Relevant Party believes that the Petitioners' argument has no legal grounds," Daniel argued.

Supiori Regent Candidate Alleged of Having Dual Identity:
In the preliminary hearing on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, Regent Candidate 3 Heronimus Mansoben was alleged to have two distinct ID cards, one listing him as an entrepreneur and the other as a civil servant. This finding was revealed in a document submitted to National Democratic Party (Nasdem), an application submitted to People's Conscience Party (Hanura), and an application submitted to Indonesian People's Wave Party (Gelora), all of which contained his profession as an entrepreneur. On the other hand, in the inauguration document of Supiori Regent dated June 5, 2023 and the letter of approval to Party of Functional Groups (Golkar), Heronimus's ID card states his profession to be civil servant.
The Petitioners had argued that due to the identity fraud and/or the use of multiple identity documents in the candidacy application requirement, the Relevant Party should be disqualified from the election. In addition, their vote acquisition should be erased or annulled.
Thus, the Petitioners requested the Court to declare a rectified vote acquisition in the Supiori KPU Decree No. 294 of 2024 on the certification of the regent election results so that Candidate Pair 1 Yotam Wakum–Marinus Maryar receive 5,661 votes Candidate Pair 2 Norlin Mamoribo–Hein Korwa receive 855 votes, and Candidate Pair 3 Heronimus Mansoben–Sahrul Hasanudin Nunsi receive 0 votes, adding up to a total of 6,516 legitimate votes.
