BEKASI (MKRI) — Head of the Planning and Finance Bureau, Tatang Garjito, officially closed the third workshop on the Constitutional Court’s (MK) strategic plans (renstra) for 2025-2029 on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at the multipurpose hall in Bekasi, West Java Province. On this second day, the workshop, which had 49 structural and functional officials and staff members in attendance, had formulated the important matters and strategic targets of the Court’s policies in 2025-2029.

During the second day of the meeting, the meeting chaired by the Head of the Planning and Finance Bureau, Tatang Garjito, discussed two national priority strategic targets related to the Court's mission, goals and strategic targets, namely strengthening the ideology of Pancasila, democracy, and human rights (HAM); and strengthening political, legal, and bureaucratic reforms, as well as strengthening the prevention and eradication of corruption, drugs, gambling, and smuggling.

In these matters, the Court has set two strategic targets, namely increasing the quality of constitutional judiciary services that are independent, have integrity, modern, and trustworthy; and increasing the quality of decisions and public understanding of Pancasila, the Constitution, and the Constitutional Court. These two strategic targets are linked to the main issues that the Court will potentially face in 2025-2029.

Then, these are stipulated in policy direction through institutional steps, including strengthening institutions in order to maintain the independence of the Court by targeting the Court to regain the trust of the public; strengthening the integrity of constitutional justices and the Court’s employees by strengthening the Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK). In addition, the Court will organize, strengthen the organizational structure, the position of the Registrar's Office, and the functional positions, of the Court; strengthening the management and enforcement of quality standards for supervision and sustainable internal control.

For information, this workshop was held for two days, Wednesday to Thursday (25–26/9/2024) and was attended by 49 structural and functional officials as well as the Court’s employees. The workshop agenda for the first day was Plenary Meeting I in the form of a discussion of the Court’s  Performance Targets for 2025-2029 together with the BPKP, and Plenary Meeting II which discussed the Court’s Funding Framework for 2025-2029. Furthermore, on the second day, the Plenary Meeting III discussed the   Court's Policy Direction in the Court’s Strategic Plan 2025-2029.
