BEKASI (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) held the third workshop on its strategic plans (renstra) for 2025-2029 on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at the multipurpose hall in Bekasi, West Java Province. Secretary-General Heru Setiawan officially opened the workshop, which had 49 structural and functional officials and staff members in attendance.

In his remarks as well as directions for the main agenda of this workshop, Heru mentioned, in realizing the vision, mission and objectives of the Court and supporting national development, especially related to the rule of law policy, it is necessary to formulate the policy direction and strategy of the Court. "In preparing this strategic plan, we must prioritize implementing constitutional values ​​and maintaining independence and budget independence. "Apart from that, in preparing this strategic plan, the explanation regarding improving the quality of the Court's human resources must be used as an important point to show that education is important for the Court in advancing the institution which has an impact on improving the quality of the Court's decisions," explained Heru.

Meanwhile, in this meeting report, the Head of the Planning and Finance Bureau, Tatang Garjito, mentioned that this activity carried the main agenda in the form of final consolidation of the preparation of the strategic plan, especially the funding framework. Together with 49 participants, this meeting activity is expected to produce final results from the direction of the Court Strategic Plan 2025–2029. So that the draft National Medium Term Development Plan for 2025-2029 contains the national priorities of the Court, including strengthening the ideology of Pancasila, democracy and human rights (HAM); strengthening political, legal and bureaucratic reforms can be achieved perfectly.

This workshop presented speakers from the Auditors of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) represented by Ma'ruf Hidayat and Eko Teguh Wahyudi. Ma'ruf said, in preparing performance, the main thing that must be maintained is accountability. This means that what is done in a field of work must show the flow and targets aimed at and the performance tree can be traced.

Furthermore, Eko continued that the Court's strategic target, in his view as an auditor, must be to be able to improve the quality of decisions and public understanding of Pancasila, the Constitution and the Constitutional Court. Therefore, technically the target must be an indicator of the community understanding program index as referred to in the Court's strategic targets.

For information, this workshop was held for two days, Wednesday–Thursday (25–26/9/2024) and was attended by 49 structural and functional officials as well as the Court’s employees. The meeting agenda for the first day was Plenary Meeting I in the form of a discussion of the Court Performance Targets for 2025-2029 together with the BPKP and Plenary Meeting II which discussed the Court Funding Framework for 2025-2029. Furthermore, on the second day, the Plenary Meeting III will be held to discuss the Court's Policy Direction in the Court Strategic Plan 2025-2029.
