JAKARTA, (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) issued Decision No. 53-02-04-36/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 for the 2024 election results dispute petition filed by Ham Kora, candidate number 4 for Mimika Regency DPRD from Golkar (Party of Functional Groups) for the electoral district of Mimika 3. The session was presided over by nine constitutional justices on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 in the plenary courtroom.

At the preliminary hearing, it was revealed that the Petitioner lacked a written recommendation from Golkar’s central executive board (DPP), a requirement for filing an election results dispute petition. Therefore, the Court concluded that the Petitioner lacked legal standing.

“The Respondent’s exception regarding the Petitioner’s legal standing is legally justified,” said Constitutional Justice Enny Nurbaningsih.

As a result, the Court granted the Respondent’s (General Elections Commission/KPU) exception regarding the Petitioner’s legal standing and declared the Petitioner’s petition inadmissible.
