JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia (MKRI) held a preliminary hearing on the election results dispute (PHPU) petition filed by Ham Kora, a legislative candidate for Mimika Regency, Central Papua Province, from the Party of Functional Groups (Golkar). The hearing for Case No. 53-02-04-36/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 was held on Monday, April 29, 2024 and was presided over by Constitutional Justices Arief Hidayat (panel chair), Anwar Usman, and Enny Nurbaningsih in Panel 3.

The Petitioner filed a petition to annul the General Election Commission (KPU) Decree No. 360 of 2024, which was announced on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. The Petitioner had not received a recommendation letter regarding the approval of Golkar’s central executive board (DPP) until the day of the first hearing.

“Until today, the Petitioner has not received the letter of recommendation from DPP Golkar, but we have submitted the petition,” said Sucahyo Tukiran, the Petitioner’s legal counsel.

He further explained that there was a reduction in the Petitioner’s votes by 200 votes at polling station (TPS) 01 of Karangsenang Village, Kuala Kencana District. In addition, there were additional votes for candidate number 5, Adolf Omaleng, in Tembagapura district.

The legal counsel asserted that the Petitioner should have received 16 votes in Tembagapura District, bringing the total number of votes to 1,310. However, the votes announced by the KPU were 1,122, or missing 118 ballots. In addition, votes for candidate Adolf Omaleng were inflated.
