JAKARTA (MKRI) — The General Elections Commission (KPU) denied the argument that there were additional and reduced votes among fellow legislative candidates of the Great Movement Party (Gerindra) in the election of Bekasi City DPRD (Regional Legislative Council) for Bekasi City Election District (Dapil) 3. This was conveyed by the KPU as the Respondent in responding to the 2024 general election results dispute (PHPU) at the Constitutional Court (MK) filed by Gerindra’s legislative candidate Mustofa.

"According to the Respondent, to fill the membership of the Bekasi 1 City DPRD in accordance with the attachment to the KPU Decree No. 360 of 2024," said the Respondent's legal counsel Ahmad Karomi Akbar in the panel room of the Court, Wednesday, May 8, 2024. This case was heard by Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra and Constitutional Justices Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani in Panel 2.

KPU stated that the correct vote acquisition for filling the membership of the Bekasi City DPRD 1 was Mustofa 5,598 votes. KPU stated that it had carried out the stages and recapitulation of votes without any reduction or addition of votes as argued by the Petitioner.

The Elections Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) has received reports of alleged administrative violations against the subdistrict election committee (PPK) of South Bekasi and East Bekasi during the recapitulation of votes at the subdistrict level regarding changes in the numbers on the copy of C-results owned by the Petitioner and by the local PPK. However, the Bekasi City Bawaslu decided that the reported party was not proven to have committed a violation.

In his petitum, the Petitioner requested that the Court cancel KPU Decision No. 360 of 2024 on the certification of the 2024 legislative election results of the DPR (House of Representatives), DPD (Regional Representatives Council), and Provincial and Regency/City DPRD announced nationwide on March 20, 2024 at 22:19 WIB as long as in Bekasi Election District 1. He also requested that the Court determine the correct vote acquisition results for the filling of Bekasi City DPRD candidates as long as in Bekasi Election District 1 from the Gerindra. According to him, Mustofa's vote count is 5,601 votes.
