JAKARTA (MKRI) — Employees of the Registrar’s Office and the Secretariat General of the Constitutional Court attended a flag-raising ceremony to commemorate Pancasila Day on Monday, June 1st, 2026, at the courtyard of Building 2. Head of General Affairs Bureau, Budi Wijayanto, who became the ceremony inspector, delivered the speech of Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) Yudian Wahyudi themed “Pancasila: Uniting the Nation, the Foundation of World Peace.” Budi stated that the theme serves as a firm declaration that the noble values of Pancasila remain relevant in maintaining national unity while also providing solutions for the realization of world peace.

He conveyed that Indonesia doesn’t merely stand by as a spectator on the global stage. In accordance with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (UUD 1945), Indonesia also plays a role in maintaining world peace. “As mandated by the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution, we bear a constitutional responsibility to participate in establishing a world order based on independence, lasting peace, and social justice,” Budi said while reading the BPIP Head’s speech.

Budi further stated that Pancasila is the foundation of Indonesia’s independent and active foreign policy, with the values of deliberation and consensus functioning as diplomatic instruments that are greatly needed to bridge differences and resolve conflicts. He added that Indonesia’s participation in United Nations (UN) peacekeeping missions represents a concrete implementation of the Second Principle of Pancasila, namely Just and Civilized Humanity.

“We want the world to see that peace is not merely the absence of war, but the presence of justice for all humankind,” Budi remarked.

The speech also addressed economic and technological developments which, if left without proper direction, could lead society—particularly the younger generation—astray. Therefore, Pancasila must continue to become a living ideology in every aspect of national life.

“Ensure that every public policy is based on social justice, fulfills the public’s sense of justice, guarantees the rights of the most vulnerable members of society, and leaves no citizen feeling neglected. We must continue to fight all forms of intolerance and radicalism that may undermine our national harmony,” Budi stated.

Therefore, through the speech delivered by the ceremony inspector, the Head of BPIP called on all participants to reaffirm their national commitment by upholding religiosity, the spirit of unity, and humanitarian values.
