JAKARTA (MKRI) — Students from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (FHIS Undiksha) conducted an academic visit to the Constitutional Court (MK) on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. The visit aimed to provide a closer understanding of the Court’s pivotal role and constitutional mandate as the guardian of the Constitution in Indonesia.

The delegation was welcomed by Constitutional Court Intermediate Legal Analyst Rio Tri Juli Putranto, who also served as the keynote speaker. In his presentation, Rio elaborated on the historical background of the Court’s establishment as well as its constitutional authorities.

“One of the Court’s functions is to adjudicate allegations of violations committed by the President and Vice President,” Rio stated during the session.

The session unfolded in a highly interactive manner. Rather than relying solely on a one-way lecture, the speaker engaged participants through a question-based game, encouraging students to actively exchange questions among themselves. These questions were then addressed and further elaborated upon by the speaker. This approach not only enlivened the discussion but also fostered active participation.

Students showed considerable enthusiasm throughout the session, particularly during discussions on judicial review, both formal and substantive, as well as the mechanism for resolving election results disputes at the Court. The dynamic interaction enhanced their comprehension while simultaneously sharpening their critical thinking on constitutional and legal issues.

Following the presentation and discussion, the visit continued to the Constitutional History Center (Puskon MK). During this segment, students gained additional insights into Indonesia’s constitutional development, the evolution of its state governance system, and the role of the Constitutional Court in upholding constitutional supremacy.

“We, especially the students from the Law Study Program, feel very proud to have the opportunity to visit our state’s constitutional institution. As accompanying lecturers, we truly appreciate that the Court consistently provides broad opportunities for us, whether in student internships, institutional collaboration, and other engagements, particularly in supporting the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education,” said Dr. Komang Febrinayanti Dantes, S.H., M.Kn., when asked about her impressions of the visit.
