JAKARTA (MKRI) – The Constitutional Court (MK) received a visit from students of SMAN 95 Jakarta on Monday, February 9, 2026, in the Hall of Building I of the Court. This activity aimed to provide the younger generation with a first-hand understanding of the Court's duties and authorities within the Indonesian constitutional system.

Haifa Arief Lubis, a Legal Analyst in the Legal Affair and Registrar Administration Bureau, was present as a speaker. In her presentation, entitled "Getting to Know the Constitutional Court Better," Haifa explained the constitutional basis for the establishment of the Court, which is rooted in Article 24 paragraph (2) of the 1945 Constitution.

"The duties and authorities of the Constitutional Court include reviewing laws against the Constitution, resolving disputes over the authority of state institutions, and their authority is regulated in the 1945 Constitution. These include disputes over election results, not only presidential and legislative elections but also regional elections. They also rule on the dissolution of political parties, and also on violations by the President or Vice President," Haifa Arief Lubis explained in her presentation.

Throughout the presentation, the students enthusiastically listened to the speaker's presentation. They actively asked questions, making the atmosphere lively, covering everything from the requirements for becoming a petitioner in a judicial review to the nature of the Constitutional Court's decisions, which are final and binding upon their pronouncement in a plenary session.

After the discussion session, the group continued their activities by touring the Constitutional History Center (Puskon). There, the students viewed various dioramas and historical archives depicting the history of the constitution in Indonesia, complementing the theoretical understanding they had previously gained. Through this visit, it is hoped that the students of SMAN 95 Jakarta will not only understand legal theory but also develop a strong constitutional awareness as future leaders.
