JAKARTA, (MKRI) – Students of SDN 05 Pagi Pesanggrahan conducted an academic visit to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia (the Court) on Thursday (02/05/2026). This educational visit aimed to introduce the institution of constitutional justice to young students through an interactive and engaging approach.
Serving as the resource person was Andhyta Andam Nadia, a Junior Legal Analyst from the Bureau of Legal Affairs and Registrar Administration of the Court. In the session, Andhyta successfully transformed complex legal material into explanations that were easy for elementary school students to understand.
“The Constitutional Court is an institution, a state body. It was established in 2003,” Andhyta explained while introducing the role of the Court.
She further elaborated on the five main authorities of the Court, which include judicial review of laws against the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (UUD 1945), resolution of disputes over authority among state institutions, dissolution of political parties, adjudication of general election result disputes, and issuing decisions on alleged violations by the President and/or Vice President.
In addition, she shared insights on the requirements to become a Constitutional Justice. According to her, a Constitutional Justice must be a statesperson with high integrity, honesty, and fairness, and must have an unblemished record, in order to uphold the Constitution objectively and responsibly.
Following the presentation session, the activity continued with a visit to the Constitutional Center. Accompanied by the Court’s team, the students were guided through various dioramas and historical archives illustrating the development of law and constitutionalism in Indonesia. This activity further enhanced the students’ knowledge and curiosity about law and state governance.
Through this program, Andhyta expressed hope that constitutional awareness could be instilled from an early age, particularly regarding fundamental rights of citizens, such as the right to life and the right to equal treatment before the law.(*)
