JAKARTA, MKRI – Dozens of students from Khoirur Rooziqiin Madrasah Aliyah (Senior High School) conducted an academic visit to the Constitutional Court on Wednesday (January 28, 2026). The visit aimed to provide students with direct insight into the role, authority, and functions of the Court within the Indonesian constitutional system.
The delegation was received by Senior Legal Analyst Syamsudin Noor, who served as the primary speaker. During the session, Syamsudin delivered a comprehensive lecture on the Court’s legal foundations as stipulated in Article 24C Paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution and Law No. 24 of 2003 concerning the Constitutional Court, as subsequently amended.
"One of the requirements to file a petition with the Court is the possession of a National ID card (KTP). Therefore, you must wait until you are 17 years old before you can officially become a Petitioner in this Court," Syamsudin remarked during his presentation.
In an interactive Q&A session, Syamsudin outlined the Court's four primary authorities: judicial review, state institutional disputes, dissolution of political parties, and electoral disputes. In addition to the formal briefing, the Court also holds the obligation to issue a decision on the impeachment of the President and/or Vice President.
Following the discussion, the group visited the Constitutional Center (Pusat Konstitusi – Puskon). The students explored various exhibits detailing Indonesia’s constitutional history and legal developments. This academic visit is expected to bridge the gap between theoretical legal education in schools and the practical implementation of constitutional justice.
