Court Wins Award at 2026 National Village Day Commemoration

BOYOLALI (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court received an award from the Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions during the culmination of the 2026 National Village Day commemoration. The event took place in Butuh Village, Mojosongo District, Boyolali Regency, Central Java Province on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

The award, received directly by Secretary-General Heru Setiawan, was a token of appreciation for the Constitutional Court’s contribution through the constitution village program in boosting constitutional literacy and strengthening the role of villages in national development.

The 2026 National Village Day commemoration in Butuh Village was a strategic momentum to strengthen the position of villages as subjects of development. Thousands of village heads from various regions in Indonesia, as well as officials from ministries and institutions, attended the event with the spirit of strengthening village capacity, empowering communities, and developing innovations based on local potential.

Constitution Villages

During the 2026 National Village Day workshop the day before, one of the Court’s fostered villages, Bangbang Village in Bangli Regency, Bali Province, had received an award from the Ministry of Home Affairs as an Outstanding Village. The award was given in recognition of Bangbang Village’s performance and innovation in village governance and community empowerment.

Constitution village is part of the Court’s program to foster a culture of constitutional awareness among citizens and state administrators. Through this program, the Court encourages village communities to understand the values ​​of Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and the role of the Constitutional Court in the state system.

Alongside Bangbang Village, several other villages have been designated constitution villages: Nagari Pasia Laweh in Agam Regency, West Sumatra; East Galesong Village in Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi; Wasur Village in Merauke Regency, South Papua; and Mekar Sari Village in Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan.

By strengthening the constitution village program, the Court remains committed to expanding the reach of constitutional education to the village level as part of its efforts to build a society that is legally aware, constitutionally aware, and actively participates in national development.
