PANGKALPINANG (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) once again carried out the “MK Goes to School” program as part of its efforts to expand constitutional literacy among students. On this occasion, Constitutional Justice Enny Nurbaningsih delivered a speech at a constitutional education program at the public senior high school SMAN 1 Pangkalpinang on Friday, December 12, 2025.

The lady justice, who was an alumna of SMAN 1 Pangkalpinang was warmly welcomed by students and teachers who filled the school hall. The participants showed great enthusiasm throughout the program.

In her presentation, Justice Enny explained the Constitutional Court’s position as one of the executors of judicial power with a strategic role in safeguarding the constitutionality of state administration. She briefly outlined the history of the establishment of the Constitutional Court and the authority vested in it.

She also elaborated on the Constitutional Court’s role in ensuring that every state policy and action remains within constitutional boundaries for the protection of citizens’ rights. “The Constitutional Court exists to ensure that every law and state policy does not deviate from the 1945 Constitution. Therefore, constitutional literacy must be an integral part of character education for the younger generation,” she continued.

Addressing the students, Justice Enny emphasized that understanding the Constitution is not only important for state administrators, but also for students as the nation’s future generation. “The Constitution is the foundation of state life. The nation’s young generation must understand it from an early age so they can become critical citizens with integrity who uphold the values of Pancasila,” the law professor said.

The question-and-answer session proceeded interactively. Students raised various questions regarding constitutional adjudication, the process of submitting petitions to the Constitutional Court, and constitutional issues relevant to democratic life. Justice Enny responded to the questions in accessible language, enabling students to gain a more concrete understanding of the duties and functions of the Constitutional Court.

Teachers expressed their appreciation for the implementation of this program, particularly because Justice Enny, as an alumna, served as an inspiration for students to continue excelling and contributing to the nation.

The “MK Goes to School” program reflects the Constitutional Court’s commitment to instilling constitutional awareness from an early age while strengthening the national character of the younger generation. The Court expects to expand this program to other regions to encourage the understanding of constitutional rights and obligations among society.
