NORTH TORAJA (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia (MKRI) once again held its MK Goes to School event as part of its commitment to improving constitutional literacy among the younger generation. On Friday, December 5, 2025, Justice Daniel Yusmic Pancastaki Foekh visited Barana’ Christian High School in North Toraja to provide constitutional education to senior high school students.

The activity was enthusiastically welcomed by the school, teachers, and students who wanted to understand more about the role of the Court, the values of Pancasila, and the importance of the constitution in the life of the nation and state. The MK Goes to School program is a strategic tool for the Court to broaden public understanding, especially among students, of the basics of the state system and the importance of upholding democratic principles and constitutional supremacy.

In his presentation, Justice Foekh emphasized that the younger generation must have adequate knowledge of the constitution to become intelligent, critical, and honest citizens. He encouraged students to understand their rights and obligations as citizens and the important role of the Court in upholding the Constitution. The students actively participated in the dialogue and asked questions about constitutional and state administration issues.

The Court Goes to School activity was combined with an internal school event, namely a Christmas service, which took place on the same day. However, the primary focus of the activity was to provide constitutional education as part of strengthening national character in the educational environment. The presence of the Constitutional Court at the school added value for students by helping them understand that the constitution is not merely a legal text but a guideline for statehood that guarantees justice, unity, and respect for diversity.

The school expressed its appreciation for the opportunity to receive explanations directly from constitutional judges. They hope activities such as this continue to be carried out to support the formation of a young generation with a national perspective and a comprehensive understanding of constitutional principles.

Through the MK Goes to School program, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia is committed to expanding constitutional literacy across Indonesia, so that the values of Pancasila and the constitution can be instilled in students early on as a foundation for shaping citizens with character and integrity.
