JAKARTA, (MKRI) – The Constitutional Court received a visit from 50 students of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta on Monday (12/01/2025). The visit formed part of the Court’s institutional education program aimed at providing students with direct insight into constitutional adjudication practices.

During the visit, the students observed plenary hearings on Petition Number 139/PUU-XXIII/2025 and Petition Number 164/PUU-XXIII/2025. The hearings were presided over by Chief Justice Suhartoyo, accompanied by the other Constitutional Justices. Through this observation, the students had the opportunity to witness the full course of proceedings, from the opening of the session to the presentation of expert testimony by the Petitioners.

The educational visit was not limited to a single day. UIN Jakarta students are scheduled to continue observing court hearings on a rotating basis until Wednesday (12/03/2025). Over the three-day period, they are expected to gain a deeper understanding of the dynamics of constitutional proceedings, the principle of transparency in judicial processes, and the role of the Court as the guardian of the constitution and the rule of law.

This educational visit also served as a practical learning platform for students to directly observe how the Court exercises its judicial function in adjudicating petitions for judicial review of laws.(*)
