YOGYAKARTA (MKRI)-Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat opened the coaching clinic themed “Optimizing the Support of Constitutional Registrars and Expert Assistants in Handling Petitions at the Constitutional Court” on Friday, November 21, 2025, in Yogyakarta.

In his remarks, Justice Arief said that destiny does not need to be rushed because it has been determined by God Almighty, therefore, we only need to work diligently. He added that the quality of the Court’s human resources is exceptional, allowing everyone to continuously learn from each other. He revealed that constitutional justices themselves learn a great deal from the expert assistants (ASLI) and constitutional registrars (PASTI).

Justice Arief explained that the Court had previously hired a number of highly capable external experts. However, he noted that these experts lacked loyalty and a sense of togetherness. Consequently, the Court decided to strengthen and develop its existing internal human resources into the highly competent team seen today, partly through educational programs conducted in collaboration with several state universities.

He emphasized that the strong human resource capacity must continue to be optimized, especially as the number of incoming cases continues to increase compared to previous years.

Efforts to Improve Case Handling Quality

Previously, in his report, Secretary-General Heru Setiawan stated that the Court is organizing two programs: a program to improve the quality of constitutional case handling and a program to enhance constitutional understanding. He explained that this coaching clinic is part of the efforts to improve case handling quality.

During the activity, organized by the Registrar’s Office and the Secretariat-General of the Constitutional Court, participants received materials on Pancasila Values in the Legal Considerations of Constitutional Court Decisions, Notes on Constitutional Court Decisions, Use of the Indonesian Language in Constitutional Court Decisions, and Discussion on Optimizing PASTI & ASLI Support in Handling Petitions at the Constitutional Court.
The program concluded on Sunday, November 23, 2025. (*)
