JAKARTA (MKRI) — A total of 72 participants of Batch LXXXII Group II of 2025 of the prosecutor training and education program (PPPJ) of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia attended a field lecture at the Constitutional Court (MK) on Thursday, October 2, 2025. They were welcome by associate (ahli madya) legal analyst Syamsudin Noer at the delegation room.
In his presentation, Syamsudin explained the Court’s fundamental role as the guardian and final interpreter of the Constitution. He emphasized that the Court functions as a guardian of democracy, protector of citizens’ constitutional rights, defender of human rights, and guardian of the state ideology.
He also outlined the mechanism of the appointment of the nine constitutional justices, who are nominated by three different institutions: the Supreme Court, the House of Representatives (DPR), and the president. He further explained that the Court’s rulings are final and binding, as stipulated in Article 24C of the 1945 Constitution, Law No. 48 of 2009 on Judicial Power, and Law No. 24 of 2003 on the Constitutional Court as amended by Law No. 7 of 2020.
“Constitutional Court decisions acquire permanent legal force immediately after being pronounced in an open plenary session. The Constitutional Court is the first and last instance, and its rulings cannot be appealed,” Syamsudin stated.
In front of the prospective prosecutors, Syamsudin also shared the philosophy behind the architecture of the Court’s building. The large pillars at the front symbolize the nine constitutional justices, reflecting the institution’s steadfastness and integrity in upholding the Constitution.
This activity is part of the program of the Training Center (Badiklat) of the Prosecution Office, in accordance with the Attorney General’s Regulation No. Per-006/A/JA/07/2017. The Center is tasked with planning, implementing, and evaluating education and training programs, as well as fostering cooperation with various institutions, both domestically and internationally.
