JAKARTA (MKRI) – Participants of the Prosecutor Formation Training Program (PPPJ) from the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia visited the Constitutional Court (MK) on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. This activity was part of a field law lecture included in the training series for prospective prosecutors.
The group was received by Senior Legal Analyst of the Court, Syamsudin Noer, at the Delegation Room, Building I of the Court. In his presentation, Syamsudin, familiarly known as Syam, explained the Court’s role as the final interpreter of the constitution as well as the guardian of constitutional law in Indonesia.
“Society may interpret a legal norm in various ways. However, once the Constitutional Court provides its interpretation of a norm, all parties must abide by the Court’s ruling,” said Syam.
He also described the appointment mechanism of the nine constitutional justices, each selected from three different institutions: the Supreme Court, the House of Representatives, and the President. “The pillars in the Court’s building symbolize the number of justices, which is nine,” he explained.
In addition to receiving the presentation, the participants also learned about the Court Building. They were seen taking photos together in front of the Court’s pillars and later explored the courtroom.
Finally, the participants visited the Constitutional History Center (Puskon MK) located on the 5th and 6th floors of the Court Building. Puskon presents the history of the constitution in Indonesia and the establishment of the Court with engaging and modern displays.
