JAKARTA (MKRI) - Constitutional Court Secretary General Heru Setiawan attended the institutional budget and work plan (RKA-KL) and the central government work plan (RKP K/L) for the Fiscal Year 2026 with Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Wednesday (July 9, 2025). In his presentation, Heru outlined several achievements and accomplishments of the Constitutional Court's performance during 2024.
Some of them are in the Financial and Asset Management Sector, MK has received 19 consecutive Unqualified Opinion (WTP) from Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) from 2005 to 2024; in the Technology Sector, MK achieved 2nd Place in the Implementation of Electronic-Based Government Systems from the 2024 SPBE Summit Digital Government Award; in the Bureaucratic Reform Sector, MK achieved a 2024 Bureaucratic Reform Index of 83.25 with an “A-” category; and in Legal Reform, MK obtained a Legal Reform Index with a score of 98.32 or Category AA (Excellent).
Then, regarding the budget realization as of July 7, 2025, which has been absorbed up to 78.22%, Heru explained that from August 13, 2003 to July 7, 2025, MK has decided on 2,105 constitutional review cases (PUU), 30 SKLN cases, 984 General Election results dispute cases (PHPU), and 1,461 Regional Election results dispute cases.
Furthermore, regarding the Court RKP K/L for the 2026 Fiscal Year, Heru stated that MK plays a role in supporting Asta Cita, namely strengthening the ideology of Pancasila, democracy, and human rights as well as strengthening political, legal, and bureaucratic reforms and influencing the prevention and eradication of corruption, drugs, gambling, and smuggling. MK also conducted an analysis and trend of case handling on judicial review (PUU) and disputes of the authority of state Institutions (SKLN) from 2021 to 2025.
"The number of PUU, SKLN, and other cases handled by MK has increased year after year, which has naturally led to an increase in the number of cases decided. Based on this upward trend, MK is expected to decide 180 cases by 2026. This is based on the average number of cases handled by the Constitutional Court over the past five years," Heru explained in the Commission III Meeting Room, Nusantara Building, Senayan, Jakarta.
The hearing with Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) was also attended by representatives from other judicial institutions, including the Secretary of the Supreme Court and the Secretary General of the Judicial Commission. The main agenda of the hearing was a discussion of the 2026 RKA K/L and RKP K/L, as well as the Government Financial Report for the Fiscal Year 2024. (*)
