JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Court dismissed the petition for Case No. 275/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 on the 2024 Yalimo regent election results dispute, filed by Candidate Pair 2 Alexsander Walilo and Ahim Helokombo. Chief Justice Suhartoyo delivered the verdict at the ruling hearing for this case on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
“On the petition’s subject matter, [the Court] declares the Petitioners’ petition inadmissible,” said Chief Justice Suhartoyo.
Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra said that the Petitioners’ petition did not fulfill the formal requirements of the petition so there was no doubt for the Court to declare the Petitioners’ petition unclear or vague (obscuur libel).
“[The petition] did not fulfill the formal requirements, therefore there was no doubt for the Court to declare the petition unclear, vague, or obscure” Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra added.

At the preliminary hearing, the Petitioners argued that the incumbent Nahor Nekwek had abused his authority in the 2024 Yalimo regent election. They alleged he lost his authority to appoint and dismiss officials once he became a regent candidate. They also alleged that state civil apparatus (ASN), national armed forces (TNI), and national police (Polri) were politically active in supporting Candidate Pair 01, Nahor Nekwek and Yan Kiraklak.
Based on the Yalimo Regency KPU (Elections Commission) Decree No. 657 of 2024 on the certification of the 2024 Yalimo regent election results, the vote acquisition of candidate pair number 1 Nahor Nekwek-Yan Kiraklak was 36,912 votes, candidate pair number 2 Alexsander Walilo-Ahim Helakombo obtained 34,525 votes, and candidate pair number 3 Marthen Yohama-Markus Walilo obtained 17,373 votes. The Petitioners requested the Court to cancel the Yalimo Regency KPU Decree and determine the correct vote acquisition according to the Petitioners as follows: candidate pair number 1 Nahor Nekwek-Yan Kiraklak received 35,647 votes, candidate pair number 2 Alexsander Walilo-Ahim Helakombo received 35,792 votes, and candidate pair number 3 Marthen Yohama-Markus Walilo received 17,371 votes.
