JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Court dismissed the petition on the 2024 Central Sulawesi gubernatorial election results dispute, filed by Candidate Pair 1 Ahmad H. M. Ali and Abdul Karim Al Jufri. Chief Justice Suhartoyo delivered the verdict at the ruling hearing for this case on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat delivered the Court’s legal considerations, stating the petition did not meet the formal requirements.

“On the petition’s arguments that are vague or obscure, it has been contained in the legal considerations of each of the issues. Accordingly, there is no hesitation for the Court to declare the Petitioners’ petition vague or obscure. Therefore, the Respondent’s and the Relevant Party’s exceptions that the Petitioners’ petition was vague or obscure are legally justified,” Arief stated.

The Court will not consider the other exceptions, the Respondent’s response, the Relevant Party’s and the Bawaslu’s (Elections Supervisory Body) statements, and the petition’s subject matter.

Central Sulawesi governor and vice governor candidate pair 1 Ahmad H.M. Ali and Abdul Karim Al Jufri alleged administrative violations in the Central Sulawesi governor election in Case No. 284/PHPU.GUB-XXIII/2025. The Petitioners argued that candidate pair 2 Anwar–Reny A. Lamadjido and candidate pair 3 Rusdy Mastura–Sulaiman Agusto violated Article 71 paragraph (2) of the Regional Election Law. The violations involved the inauguration of officials in the Central Sulawesi Province and Palu City Government within restricted timeframes, using prohibited purposes and procedures.
