JAKARTA (MKRI) – The Constitutional Court (MK) dismissed the petition for Case No. 252/PHPU.BUP-XXII/2025 on the Tolikara regent election results dispute on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in the plenary courtroom. The decree for the petition filed by Candidate Pair 1 Martinus Adii-Agus Suprayitno was delivered at the ruling hearing chaired by Chief Justice Suhartoyo.

“[The Court] declares the Petitioners’ petition for Case No. Nomor 252/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 inadmissible,” decreed by Chief Justice Suhartoyo alongside the other eight constitutional justices in the plenary courtroom.

In its legal considerations, delivered by Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat, the Court explained that the Petitioners had not fulfilled the formal requirements of the petition, particularly with regard to the reasons for the petition, which were unclear or vague. As a result, the Respondent's and the Relevant Party's exceptions are deemed legally justified.

"Based on the legal considerations stated above, the Court deems the Petitioners’ petition vague, hence the other exceptions, including the Respondent’s response, statement by the Relevant Party, statement by Bawaslu (Elections Supervisory Body), and the petition’s subject matter, were not considered further," said Justice Arief.
