JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) ruled the petition for case No. 79/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 on the 2024 Takalar regent election results dispute inadmissible. The decision was issued in the ruling hearing chaired by Chief Justice Suhartoyo and the eight constitutional justices on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
In the legal consideration read by Constitutional Justice Enny Nurbaningsih, the Court views that the name change of Regent Candidate 1 had taken place before the candidate pair certification and had been stipulated in the Takalar District Court Decision No. 26/Pdt.P/2024/PNTka.
The Court finds no ground to disregard the enforcement of Article 158 of Law No. 10 of 2016 on Regional Elections on the 2-percent vote margin threshold to file a petition. There was a 41-percent vote difference between the Petitioners (45,997 votes) and the Relevant Party (111,290 votes) in the Takalar regent election.
"On the subject matter, [the Court adjudicated] to render the Petitioner’s petition inadmissible,” Chief Justice Suhartoyo declared the verdict in the plenary courtroom.
