JAKARTA, MKRI - The Constitutional Court (MK) declared the petition of Candidate Pair Tulungagung Number 3 Maryoto Birowo-Didik Girnoto Yekti in the dispute over the 2024 Tulungagung regent election results inadmissible. The Decree No. 202/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 was read out by the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo in the ruling hearing held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

Constitutional Justice Enny Nurbaningsih explained that the Petitioners’ petition passed the deadline for the filing of the petition as stipulated in Law Number 10/2016 on the Election of Governors, Regents and Mayors (Pilkada Law) and PMK Number 3/2024.

“In the main petition, it is declared that the Petitioners’ petition for case no.202/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 is inadmissible,” stated Chief Justice Suhartoyo, accompanied by eight constitutional justices in the ruling hearing held in the Constitutional Courtroom, Jakarta.

Candidate pair number 3 Maryoto Birowo-Didik Girnoto Yekti the Petitioners argued that 180 village heads in Tulungagung Regency and the Indonesian Village Devices Association (PPDI) of Tulungagung Regency are involved in winning the Gatut Sunu Wibowo-Ahmad Baharudin pair.

The involvement of the village head is indicated by the circulation of a nine-second video on September 26, 2024, which essentially shows the alleged PPDI of Tulungagung Regency supporting Gatut Sunu Wibowo-Ahmad Baharudin. This violates Article 62 paragraphs (1) and (2) of the General Election Commission Regulation (PKPU) No. 13 of 2024 concerning the Campaign for the Election of Governors and Deputy Governors, Regents and Deputy Regents, and Mayors and Deputy Mayors.
