JAKARTA (MKRI) – The Constitutional Court (MK) declared that Case No. 38/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 on the West Pesisir regent election results dispute was outside of the Court’s jurisdiction. The decree was delivered by Chief Justice Suhartoyo alongside the other eight constitutional justices at the ruling hearing in the plenary courtroom on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
“[The Court] declares it was not authorized to adjudicate the Petitioners’ petition,” stated Chief Justice Suhartoyo.
This decree resulted from the justice deliberation meeting on Thursday, January 30, 2025. The Court ruled that the petition filed by Candidate Pair 02 Septi Heri Agusnaeni and Ade Abdul Rochim was rendered inadmissible as it did not pertain to the General Elections Commission (KPU) decree on the election results.

At the preliminary examination hearing on January 13, 2025, the Petitioners accused Dedi-Irawan of vote buying in ten villages and one district throughout the regent election. The Petitioners requested that the Court disqualify the other candidate pair and requested that the Court declare them the elected candidate pair with the most votes in the 2024 West Pesisir regent election.
