JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Case No. 111/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 on the 2024 Rote Ndao regent election results dispute was declared outside of the Constitutional Court’s (MK) jurisdiction. This was stated at a ruling hearing on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 in the plenary courtroom. The hearing was presided over by Chief Justice Suhartoyo alongside the other eight constitutional justices.
“[The Court] adjudicated, declares it not authorized to examine the Petitioners’ petition,” Chief Justice Suhartoyo delivered the verdict.
In its legal consideration, delivered by Constitutional Justice Ridwan Mansyur, the Court stated that the petition lacked relevance to the General Elections Commission (KPU) decree certifying the Rote Ndao regent-vice regent election results. “Therefore, the Court declared it beyond its jurisdiction to examine the Petitioners’ petition,” explained Justice Ridwan.

In the petition, the Petitioners requested the annulment of meeting minutes and certification of the vote results from all districts in the 2024 Rote Ndao regent-vice regent dated December 3, 2024. This case was filed by regent-vice regent candidate pair 2 Vicoas Trisula Bhakti Amalo and Bima Theodorianus Fanggidae (Petitioners).
In their petitums, the Petitioners also requested the annulment of said minutes and certification, rather than of the Rote Ndao Regency Election Commission (KPU) decree certifying Rote Ndao regent election results.
