JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Court granted the withdrawal of the case No. 261/PHPU.GUB-XXIII/2025 on the 2024 North Sulawesi gubernatorial election results dispute on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. This case was filed by governor-vice governor candidate pair 2, Elly Engelbert Lasut and Hanny Joost Pajouw.
“[The Court] concluded that the Petitioners’ request to withdraw the petition is reasonable according to law and the Petitioners may not re-file the a quo petition,” said Chief Justice Suhartoyo accompanied by the other eight Justices. The Panel also ordered that the Court Registrar’s Office return a copy of the petition file to the Petitioners.

North Sulawesi governor-vice governor candidate pair 2 requested to withdraw their petition for the North Sulawesi Governor election results dispute at the preliminary hearing on January 13, 2025, which was presided over by Chief Justice Suhartoyo in panel 1 courtroom.
Candidate pair 2 filed a petition requesting the Court to cancel the Decree of the North Sulawesi Provincial KPU (Elections Commission) No. 866 of 2024 on the Certification of the 2024 North Sulawesi governor-vice governor election results. The Petitioner also requested that the Relevant Parties be cancelled or disqualified from the election. The Petitioner also requested the Court to order the North Sulawesi KPU to organize a revote at all polling stations in North Sulawesi Province without the Relevant Party, candidate pair 1. In their alternative petitums, the Petitioner requested the Central KPU to take over the revote.
