JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court dismissed the petition filed by Candidate Pair 3 Aliadi and La Ode Rusyamin. The petition on the 2024 South Buton regent election results dispute was deemed to be vague or obscuur libel.
“On the petition’s subject matter, [the Court] declares the Petitioners’ petition No. 80/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 inadmissible,” said Chief Justice Suhartoyo at the ruling hearing alongside the other eight constitutional justices on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
In its legal considerations delivered by Constitutional Justice Arsul Sani, the Court explained that the petition had not fulfilled the formal requirements of the petition, thus the Court deemed it to be unclear or vague. Hence, the petition's subject matter did not merit further consideration.
“The petition for Case No. 80/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 no longer satisfies the formal requirements, therefore, there is no doubt for the Court to declare the petition unclear, vague, or obscure,” said Justice Arsul.

In the preliminary hearing, Candidate Pair 3 (Petitioners), Aliadi and La Ode Rusyamin, argued the interim regent had favored candidate pair 2 Muhammad Adios and La Ode Risawal (Relevant Party). The Petitioners stated that the interim regent had issued a decree of appointment and termination of civil apparatus (ASN) on November 18, 2024, but annulled it the next day. They also alleged the interim regent of mobilization of ASN and higher-ranking officials of Buton Selatan Regency Government to support candidate pair 2.
Based on the South Buton Regency KPU Decree No. 716 of 2024 concerning the certification of the 2024 South Buton regent election results, the votes obtained by candidates pair as follows: candidate number 1 Samirudin-La Muhadi were 11,424 votes, candidate number 2 Muhammad Adios-La Ode Risawal received 17,681 votes, candidate number 3 Aliadi-La Ode Rusyamin received 14,242 votes, and candidate number 4 Hardodi-La Ode Amiruddin received 2,799 votes. However, candidate Number 3 Aliadi and La Ode Rusyamin as the Petitioners in their petitum requested the Court to cancel the South Buton KPU Decree and ordered the South Buton Regency KPU to immediately conduct a re-voting in all polling stations in the South Buton Regency area or at least conduct a re-voting in several polling stations as requested by the Petitioners.
