BEKASI (MKRI) — "Praise be to God, we are able to gather at the tennis court of the Constitutional Court Housing Complex in Bekasi in good health. What makes this moment even more special is that we are here to witness the completion of the court's renovation," said Chief Justice Suhartoyo in his remarks at the inauguration of the tennis court at the MK Housing Complex in Bekasi on Saturday, January 18, 2025.

According to Suhartoyo, besides serving as a sports facility, the tennis court can also be a place to strengthen camaraderie. He shared that, during his tenure as a judge at the Supreme Court, he often visited tennis courts across various regions whenever he was not at the courthouse. "On the tennis court, one can make many friends. Even after moving to different regions, the friendships remain strong, forming genuine bonds," he remarked.

Suhartoyo further stated that completing the tennis court renovation is a step forward in fostering sportsmanship. However, he emphasized that sportsmanship should be demonstrated on the court and in daily office duties. "Honesty and sportsmanship go hand in hand with integrity, which is essential in building a collaborative work environment," he asserted.

He also noted that a person's honesty and sportsmanship can often be reflected in their behavior on the tennis court. "Hopefully, we won't encounter any issues here, as I believe all of you are good people," he concluded.

Chief Justice Suhartoyo signed a commemorative plaque and released balloons to mark the inauguration of the newly renovated tennis court.

Prior to this, Secretary-General of the Court Heru Setiawan, in his report, stated that the MK Housing Complex in Bekasi consists of 77 houses and 15 dormitories spanning 3.5 hectares. As part of the infrastructure, the tennis court aims to reinforce the core values of BERAKHLAK among civil servants, particularly in fostering harmony and collaboration among employees. "This is the reason behind the inauguration of the tennis court, alongside the development of other sports facilities at the office," Heru explained.

He further elaborated that the tennis court features two courts covering a total area of 35.7m x 32.5m (1,160.25 square meters). Additionally, a portable basketball hoop has been installed for employees interested in using the facility. The tennis court management will later be handed over to the Constitutional Cooperative, making it accessible to the public.
