JAKARTA (MKRI) — Regent Candidate Pair 1 Yemis Kagoya and Tanus Kagoya (Petitioners) withdrew their petition on the 2024 Lanny Jaya regent election results dispute. The petition was withdrawn by the Petitioners' legal counsel Roslindawati at the preliminary hearing of Case No. 289/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 at the Constitutional Court (MK) on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
The hearing was presided over by Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat (panel chair) and Constitutional Justices Anwar Usman and Enny Nurbaningsih on panel 3.
"We would like to request to withdraw Case No. 289/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 as stated in the withdrawal letter submitted to the Registrar's Office of the Court on December 19, 2024" Roslindawati affirmed.
The Lanny Jaya KPU (Elections Commission) had to delay the vote count recapitulation at the district level, originally slated for December 7, 2024. This was due to the fact the KPU did not use the C-KWK model and D-KWK model forms as a basis for the vote count. Until the moment the plenary meeting session was closed on December 14, 2024, the KPU had never received D model forms from Buguk Gona and Pirime Districts. The Petitioners also alleged the Respondent of manipulating the number of voters and inserting 12,524 additional voters from the two districts during the election data input stage into Sirekap—KPU's recapitulation platform.
Thus, in their petitums, the Petitioners originally requested that the Court annul the Lanny Jaya KPU No. 79 of 2024 on the certification of the 2024 Lanny Jaya regent election results issued on December 14, 2024 at 06:37 WIT.
