JAKARTA (MKRI) — Regent Candidate Pair 3 Dinus Wanimbo and Gamael Eldorando Enumbi (Petitioners) withdrew their petition on the 2024 Tolikara regent election results dispute. The petition was withdrawn by the Petitioners' legal counsel Muhammad Wahyu at the preliminary hearing of Case No. 299/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 at the Constitutional Court (MK) on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
The hearing was presided over by Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat (panel chair) and Constitutional Justices Anwar Usman and Enny Nurbaningsih on panel 3.
"I would like to say that Case No. 299/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 is discontinued and withdrawn as stated in the withdrawal letter submitted to the Registrar's Office of the Court," Muhammad Wahyu affirmed.
Initially, the Petitioners in their petition mentioned that the vote difference between them and Candidate Pair 4 had been declared as 16,789 votes. They argued that this gap resulted from the fact that six districts—Wugi, Kembu, Yuneri, Nunggawi, Aweku, and Air Garam—out of the 46 districts in the regency had failed to complete the vote count recapitulation by the deadline set. In their petitum, the Petitioners requested that the Court order the Tolikara KPU (Election Commission) to conduct a revote in eight districts.
