JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Deiyai regent-vice regent candidate 3 Yan Ukago and Stefanus Mote withdraws the petition for case No. 197/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 on Deiyai regent election dispute. The Petitioner’s legal counsel, Walidi stated the withdrawal on the preliminary hearing in panel 3 courtroom, Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

"Considering internal considerations, we hereby withdraw the petition for the mentioned case number, request the Court to remove the petition from the election result dispute case registration book, and declare the quo case withdrawn," stated Walidi during the hearing, chaired by Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat.

The Petitioner explained that Deiyai Regency has a population of 104,610 people and a final voter list (DPT) of 78,959. Based on these figures, the vote difference between the Petitioner and the leading candidate should be within 2 percent of the valid votes certified by the Provincial/Regency/City General Election Commission (KPU).

The Petitioner argued that the discrepancies between their records and those of Deiyai KPU (the Respondent) were due to errors in vote tabulation or potential manipulation in several districts.

In Bouwobado, for instance, the Petitioner recorded 4,094 valid votes, but the district election committee (PPD) only reported 467 votes, a discrepancy of 3,627 votes allegedly transferred to candidate pair 2. These discrepancies across multiple districts resulted in a total loss of 20,687 votes for the Petitioner.

As such, the Petitioner requests the Court to grant the petitioner’s petition in full and annul the Deiyai regency KPU Decree No. 39 of 2024 on the certification of the 2024 Deiyai regent-vice regent election result, issued on Thursday, December 5, 2024, 18:45 Eastern Indonesia Time. (*)
