JAKARTA (MKRI) – Candidate Pair 03 Welliam R Manderi–Yohanes G Raubaba withdrew the petition concerning the 2024 Yapen Island Regency election results dispute. The withdrawal for Case No. 271/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 was revealed in the preliminary hearing at the Court on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
The preliminary hearing was presided over by Chief Justice Suhartoyo (panel chair) and Constitutional Justices Foekh and M. Guntur Hamzah on Panel 1. The withdrawal was directly stated by the principal, Welliam R Manderi.
“I, the Petitioner, through several objective considerations, on this good opportunity withdraw the petition No. 271 which was heard today,” stated Welliam.
Previously, the petition was filed on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. In the petitum, requested the Court to annul the Yapen Island Regency KPU Decree No. 1278 concerning the certification of the recapitulation of the 2024 Yapen Island Regency election results.
Besides, the Petitioners also requested the Court to order the Yapen Island KPU to disqualify the winner in the election and to carry out a revote in all polling stations.
