JAKARTA (MKRI) – M. Andrean Saefudin, representing CSO Sarekat Demokrasi Indonesia (Indonesian Democracy Union) and claiming to be an election observer, has withdrawn the petition for Case No. 307/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025. The withdrawal was announced by chair of panel 3 Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat, as neither the Petitioners nor their legal counsel attended the hearing.
“Regarding the revocation and/or withdrawal of the petition for case 307, the case has been withdrawn,” said Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat at the preliminary hearing concerning the Intan Jaya Regency election results dispute which took place in panel 3 courtroom on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
The Intan Jaya Regency election was contested by five candidate pairs: Candidate Pair 01 Anner Maisini–Igapa won 43,535 votes, Candidate Pair 02 Marten Tipagau–Malianus Belau received 24,995 votes, Candidate Pair 03 Apolos Bagau–Tetairus Widigipa gained 19,908 votes, Candidate Pair 04 Oni Dendegau–Aguni Tapani gained 20,672 votes, and Candidate Pair 05 Bernadus Kobogau–Melianus Agimbau obtained 15,884 votes.
Before the withdrawal, the Petitioners argued several violations had been committed, such as the Intan Jaya Regency KPU (Elections Commission) not recounting and canceling the vote recapitulation results as recommended by the Intan Jaya Regency Bawaslu (Elections Supervisory Body).
