JAKARTA (MKRI) – Candidate Pair 01, Nofi Candra and Leo Murphy, filed a petition with the Court requesting the annulment of Solok City KPU (General Election Commission) Decree No. 278 of 2024, which certified the results of the 2024 Solok City mayoral election on December 3, 2024. However, both the Petitioners and their legal counsel were absent during the preliminary hearing, which was presided over by Chief Justice Suhartoyo (panel chair) and Constitutional Justices Foekh and M. Guntur Hamzah on Friday night, January 10, 2025.

“The Petitioners are absent. So, we consider them not sincere in filing the petition and we will deliver it to the Justice Deliberation Meeting,” explained Chief Justice Suhartoyo from the plenary courtroom.

The Petitioners, for Case No. 66/PHPU.WAKO-XXIII/2025, stated that the vote acquisition for Candidate Pair 01 Nofi Candra–Leo Murphy received 17,956 votes and candidate pair 02 received 19,061 votes, indicating a difference of 1,645 votes with the number of valid votes reaching 37,557 votes. The Petitioners argue that the difference in votes occurred due to structured, systematic, and massive violations committed by the chairperson and commissioners of Baznas of Solok City, KPU of Solok City through KPPS (election committee), and Solok City Bawaslu (election supervisory body). They revealed that the TSM violation involving Baznas was allegedly carried out through the policy of providing zakat and other social assistance only to people who expressed support for candidate pair 02.

In addition, there is an Employment Social Security Program through Death Insurance (JKM) and Work Accident Insurance (JKK) for 536 vulnerable workers in Solok City in collaboration with BPJS Employment in Solok City. Further, related to the involvement of KPPS members, it is suspected that approximately 5,000 C.6 forms were not given by KPPS officers to voters registered in the final voter lists. Therefore, the Petitioners requested the Court to order the Solok City KPU to carry out a revote in all polling stations, with a total of 118 polling stations in 13 districts in Solok City
