JAKARTA, MKRI - Central Kalimantan Governor-Vice Governor Candidate Pair Number 1 Willy Midel Yoseph-Habib Ismail Bin Yahya withdrew the petition for case number 269/PHPU.GUB-XXIII/2025 on the Central Kalimantan governor election results dispute. Initially, both of them questioned the execution of the election, which was filled by many structured, systematic, and massive (TSM) violations.

However, at the preliminary hearing on Thursday morning, January 09, 2025, the pair submitted a withdrawal of the petition before the panel of justices chaired by Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat. “We are withdrawing our power of attorney and petition,” said Willy Midel Yoseph at the online hearing.

In their petition, the Petitioners said that the vote count results certified by the Central Kalimantan KPU (Elections Committee) with a total of 1,300,490 valid votes. The difference in votes allowed in election results dispute, according to the provisions of Law No. 10 of 2016 is maximum 1.5% of the total valid votes, which is 19,507 votes in this case. However, according to the Petitioners, the difference in votes between them and the winning Candidate Pair Number 3 was 205,328 votes. In addition, the difference with Candidate Pair Number 2 was 149,899 votes.

The Petitioners argued that the success of Candidate Pair Number 3 Agustiar Sabran and Edy Pratowo happened due to structured, systematic, and massive (TSM) violations that involved the incumbent governor and vice governor, bureaucratic structures, heads of regional working units (SKPD), state civil apparatus (ASN), and directors and commissioners of regional-owned enterprises (BUMD). They were accused of abusing their authority by using government programs and activities to benefit themselves. As a result, the Petitioner requested the court to disqualify the winning candidates.
