JAKARTA, (MKRI) - The Constitutional Court (MK) has rescheduled the Preliminary Examination Hearing for the 2024 Regional Election Result Dispute (PHPU Kada 2024). Initially set for Wednesday morning, January 8, 2025, at 8:00 AM WIB, the hearing will shift to the afternoon session on the same day."

The rescheduling was necessary because one of the Panel of Justices, Constitutional Justice Anwar Usman, had an accident (a fall) at his residence on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, and required hospital treatment. For reference, Panel 3 comprises Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat (Panel Chairman), alongside Constitutional Justices Anwar Usman and Enny Nurbaningsih.

"Today's hearing for Panel 3 had to be rescheduled due to the condition of Mr. Anwar Usman, who suffered a fall yesterday and is currently hospitalized," explained Constitutional Justice Enny Nurbaningsih, the spokesperson for the Court, during her statement to the media.

Constitutional Justice Enny added, "As a consequence, the hearing mechanism underwent adjustments. The session in Panel 3, which was postponed this morning, will commence at 2:00 PM WIB and continue into the second session until the evening. Meanwhile, the schedules for Panel 1 and Panel 2 will also be shifted to accommodate these changes."

"There must be three justices in the court, and Zoom cannot be used for this session. Therefore, the justices from Panel 1 and Panel 2 will temporarily shift to Panel 3, and we are alternating positions until, hopefully, Mr. Anwar Usman can recover soon," Constitutional Justice Enny continued, providing further information.

Under this rotation system, some justices from other Panels will be assigned to assist with the proceedings in Panel 3. The Constitutional Court hopes that this mechanism will ensure the smooth continuation of the hearing without disrupting the ongoing process. Constitutional Justice Anwar Usman will temporarily be replaced by a constitutional justice from another panel.
