JAKARTA (MKRI) – Lamongan regent-vice regent candidates 01 Abdul Ghofur and Yuhronur Efendi officially withdrew their petition for the 2024 Lamongan regent election results dispute. The withdrawal was confirmed by the legal counsel at the preliminary examination hearing for Case No. 196/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025, which was presided over by Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra (panel chair) and Constitutional Justices Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani on panel 2 on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
“We, the legal counsel, were ordered by the Petitioners to withdraw or revoke our petition, Your Honor,” said the legal counsel to Deputy Chief Justice Saldi.
Ghofur-Firosya initially requested the Court to annul the Lamongan Elections Commission (KPU) Decree No. 3019 of 2024 on the certification of 2024 Lamongan regent election results. They also requested the Court to certify that Candidates 02 Yuhronur Efendi and Dirham Akbar Aksara had received 0 votes.
The Petitioners requested the Court to annul the Lamongan KPU decree and to certify the vote acquisition of Candidate Pair 02 at 0 votes, arguing that their vote acquisition was the result of structured, systematic, and massive (TSM) violations. According to the Petitioners, if the votes for each candidate pair were obtained without such violations, Ghofur-Firosya would have received 327,345 votes, while Efendi-Dirham would have received 0 votes.
