JAKARTA (MKRI) – Sumenep Regent Candidate Pair 1 Ali Fikri and Muh Unais Ali Hisyam (Petitioners) claimed no voting took place in several polling stations in Sumenep, as delivered by their legal counsel in the preliminary hearing of the regency election results dispute for Case Number 206/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
"In Sumbernangka Village, while the Petitioners won in Polling Station 2, they only earned one vote there. In Polling Stations 1, 3, and 4, they earned none," said Sulaisi, the legal counsel, before Panel 2 presided over by the Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra (panel chair) and Constitutional Justices Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani, in the courtrooms of the Court (MK), Jakarta.
Sulaisi claimed that some voting events were only carried out as a formality since the polling station working committee (KPPS) was controlled by the village heads, who were gathered by the district head in the campaign basecamp of Candidate Pair 2 Achmad Fauzi Wongsojudo dan Imam Hasyim. These parties allegedly conspired and recapitulated the ballots themselves. In the case of Sumbernangka Village, while the voting did take place, the Petitioner only acquired one vote.
The Petitioners argued that their votes were reduced, thus favoring Candidate Pair 2. They claimed that the vote acquisition was altered during the recapitulation in polling stations and transferred to Candidate Pair 2. There were also manipulations and inputs of mismatched data to the C-Result-KWK forms.
Based on the Sumenep General Election Commission (KPU) decree, Candidate Pair 1 Fikri-Unais received 249,597 votes, while Candidate Pair 2 Fauzi-Hasyim secured 379,858 votes, with the latter being declared as the winners.
In their petitums, the Petitioners requested that the Court annul the Sumenep KPU Decree No.2527 of 2024 on the certification of the 2024 regent election results dated December 25, 2024. They also petitioned that the Court disqualify Candidate Pair 2 Acmad Fauzi Wongsojudo-Imam Hasyim from the election or at the very least to instruct that Sumenep KPU conduct a revote in all of the polling stations in the regency without Fauzi-Hasyim.
